There is so much more to see of the Veneto region from the Villa than the beautiful Queen of the Adriatic - Venice. Click here for our comprehensive guide to all the exciting things to see and do around the area.

Beach Resorts of Lido di Jesolo & Caorle
Many of our guests head down to the busy and popular beach resorts of Lido di Jesolo and the more upmarket seaside town of Caorle which was Ernest Hemmingway's favourite seaside town. Packed full of bars, restaurants, nightclubs, souvenir shops and entertainment during the season, it's great to be able to combine the City of Venice with a beach holiday. Just 15 minutes drive from the Villa the beach resorts offer the best nightlife for young people. There is always a full schedule of events and entertainment during the summer season. If you fancy taking a boat trip into Venice from Jesolo, there are quite a few services on offer here. The children will also love a day trip or evening dinner cruise on the Jolly Rodger Pirate Galleon which also sails into Venice from Tre Porti. Visit the website for Jesolo

Aqualandia Water Theme Park
The kids will love the Aqualandia water theme park in Jesolo which is the largest in Europe. Much more than a traditional water park. It's a fully themed fun Island, with 26 attractions (including the highest water-slide in the world and the Europe's highest bungee jumping tower), 7 shows and 4 animation activities.  Shark Bay is the first  wave pool in the world with sand not only outside but also inside the water. Among palm trees, the theme with rocks and wooden boards, the white sand from the Caribbean and the clear water, the impression is of a Virgin Islands paradise. There are many shows and entertainment throughout the season at this park. Visit the website.

Jolly Roger - Venetian Galleon Dinner Cruise
Discover the enchanting views of the Venetian Lagoon, with astonishing itineraries along the most fascinating settings on the Adriatic coast.  Stunning scenery you can enjoy and admire from the romantic Jolly Roger Galleon, with excellent on board service and an engaging atmosphere: a thrilling and charming boat ride in the Venetian Lagoon. Visit the website.

Treviso

The Villa is equidistant between Venice and the beautiful and historic City of Art Treviso. Like a miniature Venice, this medieval City has ancient watermills and little Canals which the River Sile flows through. Jam packed with top class shops, Restaurants, Delis and Bars, a visit to Treviso is a must when staying at Villa San Toma.  Treviso is also the City where the famous Italia dessert - Tiramisu (meaning pick me up!) was first invented. It is also the home of Benetton.

The Wine Routes
The Villa is quite simply surrounded by some of the finest vineyards in Italy. On the Piave wine route on the Strada dei Vini, just a few minutes drive from the Villa, there are several fabulous vineyards along the one road including Dogarina, Ornella Molon and Villa Sandre. We are literally surrounded on all sides by the best Prosecco producers as this is the region where Prosecco is produced and is protected as an appellation just like Champagne is.

Two of the big winery highlights of the year are the wine festivals in the beautiful gardens within the grand historic Villa of the Ornella Molon winery which happen in May and then again in the Autumn each year. The cost of entry is usually around €16 for which paltry sum you are given an Ornella Molon apron with a large pocket to hold your souvenir wine glass engraved with the name of the winery. You also get vouchers for a very nice 3 course lunch including salamis, cheese from the region, a pasta or risotto course and dolci afterwards to wash down with Ornella's wonderful Passito (dessert wine). You can try all of the wines and drink as much of the stuff as you wish all day long to the sound of classical music, until later when the disco and the real party starts. The neighbouring Parachute Centre takes the opportunity to persuade  guests with enough dutch courage to go for a tandem jump, so it becomes a very surreal scene to see an army of tandem jumpers land back into the gardens in  front of your eyes. You can begin to wonder just how much you have had to drink!

There is also the Prosecco and Valdobbiadene - Conegliano Hills Wine Route as well as the Montello and Asolo Hills Wine Route all within shooting distance of the Villa..
